Who betrayed bin Laden?

Betrayed by his closest?

Some stories one finds in the world press online are just like those one finds in the print media, usually on the back pages.  They are not news worthy nor important in any sense and yet, somehow they capture the spotlight; maybe it is only in slow news times that they can shine through the noise usually created by wars, stock market crashes and tsunamis.   In more active news times, this kind of story would just get lost on the back page of newspapers no one ever reads.  This week the long dead Osama bin Laden and his mysterious wives have been getting headlines.

First, the Russian press broke a story, AOL later picked it and gave it front page coverage for a couple of days, that bin Laden was not buried at sea. His body was instead shuttled off a mysterious and unknown place for some nefarious purpose; I am sure we will learn what that purpose was later on some other slow news day.  Then Pakistan decided it was going to prosecute the wives of bin Laden for being in Pakistan illegally; the poor women have no one to care for them since their husband was so rudely shot out from underneath them and seemingly no place to go.

Possibly Pakistan may offer them and their children a jail cell, or find a country willing to take them – we must wait to find out.  Today, the Middle East Online is reporting a new storyline – who betrayed bin Laden?  Who? –  who indeed, one of those same wives, driven by jealousy over the favors shown to one of the other wives – hell knows no greater furry than a spurned woman – she turned the inattentive, porno watching, big talking, always too busy, bigamist into the Americans. I can hardly wait to get the updates; to find out where the body is, what terrible things the non-believers have done to it and which of those jealous women turned him in.  It could become a sit-com, couldn’t it? I would watch.
